The Cule brand (pronounced ‘cool’)

was established in 2007 to offer New Zealand’s boat building industry the option of a premium-quality, locally manufactured boat hatch. No small feat when your competing against large international brands but a strong customer focus and a commitment to ‘try harder’ has held Cule Marine in good stead. Today Cule Marine enjoys close working relationships with many of New Zealand’s leading boat builders, designers, and passionate boat owners.

Following encouragement from customers to add other products to the mix, the team at Cule Marine have sourced a selection of ASA-plastic hatches from european brand Ceredi to complement their existing range of aluminium hatches.

Scott Hanson

A keen boatie and fisherman, Scott is a member of the Outboard Boating Club at Orakei, Auckland, and has been a longtime supporter of Coastguard both as a volunteer and Board Member in previous years. He now spends most of his free time on the water exploring the Hauraki Gulf with Ursula and their two young sons hoping for a good catch. Less frequently he can be found hurtling down trails at Woodhill Forest where he enjoys giving his trusty old mountain bike a whirl.

Scott has strong managerial skills having fulfilled key roles in both large, multi-national companies and locally based co-operatives. Along with a wealth of experience, he has a passion for business development, customer service and team performance. He looks forward to becoming further involved in the marine industry and bringing his depth of expertise to the business.

Ursula Hanson

A lover of the outdoors, Ursula enjoys adventures with her boys and getting back to basics. One of the highlights of the family’s year is their annual camping holiday at Martins Bay, North Auckland. Ursula spent many happy summers here as a child and now enjoys sharing this special place with her own family and friends.

Ursula has had a lifelong passion for art and design which led to her becoming a graphic designer. Self-employed for over a decade, she has worked with both large corporates and small business owners to bring about their marketing and branding objectives. She appreciates good design, understands the pressure of production deadlines and knows the importance of great customer service.
